The Oakley Diner once again welcomed patrons in September 2023, following a hiatus of several years. Positioned within a mere hour’s drive from Salt Lake Valley, the diner, previously known as the Road Island Diner, stands out as one of the few authentic diner cars in the U.S., now restored to its original splendor.

Under the direction of Eric May in the kitchen, formerly of the Blue Boar Inn, the diner offers a classic menu highlighted by its signature Oakley Burger. Visitors stepping into the diner are transported back in time, immersed in a 1950s ambiance that encapsulates a slice of 20th-century American life. The authentic decor and vibe ensure the Oakley Diner remains a distinguished spot, evoking a sense of nostalgia and charm for both residents and tourists alike.

The Notch Pub

The Notch Pub, a treasured spot known for its live Saturday music, embraces both family and nature in its log cabin ambiance. Recently transformed from a tavern into a restaurant, it welcomes families to indulge in culinary experiences that transcend mere bar food. Some still call it the Beaver Creek Inn or the BCI. And its menu showcases house-made favorites like smoked BBQ ribs, smoked salmon, and a bacon bleu cheese burger with fries, complemented by a selection of cold beers from one of the state's oldest licensed bars. Guests can enjoy their meals in two dog-friendly outdoor dining areas, while taking in the scenic views. The Notch is open year-round daily, except for Christmas and Thanksgiving, from noon till late.

“We have made a bunch of changes to the pub in the past year; the Notch reminds me of home,” said Caylan Rinck, co-owner.

Housed within an old pharmacy, this unique diner is adorned with old books and crafts and plenty of things to admire. Serving the Wacburger, 1/3 pound of lean locally ground beef and hand-pattied, you know burger is going to fresh. Another standout on the menu is the Navajo taco, a rare find these days. Pair it with a side of bacon cheese fries, add jalapenos for an added flavor and maybe a little spice. For dessert, the old-fashioned ice cream counter offers a delightful raspberry pretzel shake that will undoubtedly have patrons returning for more.

Thanks to their delicious homemade donuts, Mirror Lake Station has been a local favorite for over 40 years. Made fresh daily from scratch, these donuts come in a variety of classic and seasonal flavors and have even won the prestigious Utah's Best Donut Award. So next time you're filling up your tank in Kamas, be sure to grab a donut (or two!) – they're known to sell out fast.

Mirror Lake Diner

The building’s origins have been as a restaurant since the 1950s; the Mirror Lake Diner opened on May 22, 2013, welcoming over 800,000 patrons since then. The current owner, Gabriel Morin, purchased it in 2017 and underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2018. Known for its exceptional breakfast and brunch offerings, such as eggs benedicts, huevos rancheros, and the Brittany wrap, the establishment continues to impress diners with their much-loved chicken fried steak and scones. Operating hours are from 7 AM daily, closing at 4 PM from Sunday to Wednesday and extending to 9 PM from Thursday to Saturday.

“Our motto is "simple food done right"— we don't overthink our food, we just get good ingredients, cook it right and put it on a plate; we let the food speak for itself,” said Morin. “We have never advertised and probably never will.”

Dan Littledike embarked on a mission to bring exceptional pizza to the Wasatch back after acquiring a historic hotel from 1892, now known as Summit Pizza Co. Their menu features artisan classics like pepperoni and their acclaimed chicken bacon ranch pizza, prepared with locally sourced flour from Richmond flour mills and house-made dough mixed daily using an Italian mixer. Guests are encouraged to begin their meal with a cinnamon roll and explore the unique Shirred eggs skillet for an innovative breakfast option. Weekly reservations open every Monday at 10 AM for the following weekend, and seating is available from 9 AM to 1 PM on both Saturday and Sunday.
